If God had intended us to follow recipes, He wouldn’t have given us grandmothers. ~Linda Henley
In 2014, one of our regular tiffin customers suggested we package some of our best-selling curries for retail sales. Our main concern with this was how to retain the delicious taste our customers had become accustomed to, without the use of preservatives, which would be required for a retail shelf life. The answer was found with pressure canning. It is a more labour intensive way of making our products but it allowed us to get to where we wanted to go.
During Ontario’s growing season, most of the produce in the jars comes freshly picked from small and medium sized family farms; the spices are added in whole and not as powdered blends. The curries are cooked by human hand, in small batches and then filled in jars which are heated under high pressure. Once cooled, the freshly cooked aromas are preserved within the jar until you release them at home. Made just like good food should be, here is where you can buy them.
